How to Register for IDeAS?
IDeAS for Investors
IDeAS (Internet-based Demat Account Statement) is a webapplication which facilitates you to view your account’s balance and transaction history online. You can register online by following three simple steps :
Register your demat account details DP ID, Client ID, Mobile number details
Enter your User details viz., User ID and set password.
IDeAS offer unique features viz:
Download NSDL e-CAS of last 12 months
Download the Client Master Report comprising demographic details of the Client
View the latest balances of the demat account along with the value based on the previous day closing price
View transactions of demat account of last 30 days
Access to NSDL’s e-Voting facility
Download ‘Form 26AS’.
For Beneficial Owners.
To register as a client (beneficial owner) on IDeAS:
Visit the IDeAS website at https://eservices.nsdl.com
Click on ‘Register Online for IDeAS’
Enter DP ID, Client ID, Mobile number. OTP will be send to the registered mobile number.
Enter a User ID (3 to 8 characters) and a Password (8 to 16 characters, preferably alphanumeric). Fill in other necessary details and click the 'SUBMIT' button.
Confirm the details entered on the first screen by clicking the 'CONFIRM' button.
An OTP will be send at the end of the process at the registered mobile number. Please enter the details and proceed.
The screen will display that you have been registered for IdeAS.
IDeAS for clearing members:
To register as a clearing member on IDeAS:
- Fill out the IDeAS registration form on the IDeAS website (https://eservices.nsdl.com ).
- To register as a clearing member on IDeAS:
- Obtain approval from their DP (Depository Participant).
- Attach the subscription fee for the year.
- Send the completed form, along with the fee, to NSDL.
- Once processed, NSDL will provide a User-Id and Password to the CM.
- Use the provided User-Id and Password to access IDeAS
Open System Architecture
NSDL IDeAS facility facilitates Brokers/CMs to get the feed of their CM Pool Accounts irrespective of the DP with whom they maintain the CM Pool Accounts. Such open system architecture has facilitated the brokers to easily shift their CM Pool Account from one DP to another and access IDeAS facility easily.
Reduced Dependency and Saving of Cost
With the advent of T+1 and current increase in the volume of transactions handled by brokers, it is important for every broker to ascertain the shortages and keep their back office system. The fetching of feed from IDeAS facilitates brokers in various ways:
- Ascertain the shortages, which reduces auction.
- No follow-up required with DPs for ascertaining the transactions in CM Pool Account.
- Meting the requirement of early pay-in on T day.
- Ascertaining the securities blocked in Client Account under securities blocking mechanism, Tender offer and e-DIS mandate.
